Bendon is a much loved, iconic New Zealand company with a history dating back 72 years. We are unique in that we design, manufacture and sell our own products including Pleasure State, Heidi Klum Intimates, Fayreform, Lovable, Fredericks of Hollywood and of course Bendon.

We have recently undertaken a review of our operating model and have made the decision to create one global head office back here in Auckland, New Zealand.  We are now recruiting 30 roles across Merchandise, Planning, Sourcing, Retail Operations, and Marketing.

The Procurement Manager role will have responsibility managing Bendon's procurement of non-stock items, managing support office, retail stores and Distribution Centre facilities, including repairs and maintenance.

Other Key Responsibilities:

Project management of all suppliers and contractors involved in store refurbishment and new store openings ensuring control of costs, budgets, and deadlines. Managing repairs, assisting in refurbishments and new stores and assisting maintaining Bendon's store standards. Liaising with various property managers ensuring any issues are resolved in the most cost-effective manner and escalated to the management team

Manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers and services including vehicles, travel, stationery, store consumables (e.g. packaging, gift cards, till rolls, etc), cleaning and facilities management.  Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate costing and coding and query and follow up on any invoicing issues.

Effectively source the best pricing for Bendon. Monitor and control costs within budget and ensures safety standards are met. Manage company credit card ensuring any spend is within budget and approvals.

Managing site security systems and procedures for NZ stores, Auckland Support office, and Distribution Centre, including security tags and alarm code. Ensure that building a Warrant of Fitness is maintained for the Auckland Support office and the Distribution Centre.

Manage and assist with event coordination, including sample sales, team events and temp cover for Reception as required

 

The successful candidate will have experience in Commercial Property and Facilities management where spending was controlled and long-term savings in procurement were achieved.

Other Skills and Experience Sought

  • Strong negotiation skills to successfully persuade internal stakeholders and suppliers/vendors, previous experience in contract negotiations.
  • Project management and strategic planning experience.
  • Track record of managing commercial results that exceeded targets.
  • Experience in monitoring complex deals and relationships with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements
  • Previous experience managing a portfolio that includes retail stores would be an advantage
